In 2010, Itawamba County Agricultural High School cancelled their prom when a lesbian couple planned to attend, citing that females wearing tuxedos “violated” prom policy.
The new musical The Prom examines this controversy and other similar events. The stars talk about the importance and relevancy of the show as its world premiere takes place at Alliance Theatre.
